Keeping Eyes Safe
The trick is all in how we handle the light. Standard quartz lamps throw out a lot of UV and high-intensity glare. It’s a bit like staring into a spotlight. So, we added specialized coatings and filters to the mix. Think of it like a pair of sunglasses for your heater. It blocks the harsh, blinding parts of the spectrum but lets the warmth right through. You get a soft, gentle glow instead of a white-hot beam. Your skin still feels the heat, but your optic nerve gets a break. It’s much kinder on the eyes.
What’s Under the Hood
Inside, there’s a tungsten filament tucked into a high-purity quartz tube. We use a halogen cycle here, which is just a fancy way of saying the filament lasts longer and doesn’t burn out as quickly. Most of these run on standard 220V-240V power. But the bulb is only half the story. We also spent a lot of time on the housing. The reflectors are shaped specifically to spread the light around. No more “hot spots” or blinding flashes when you look up.
The Trade-off
Now, here is the honest part. When you filter out light, you lose a tiny bit of heat. Because the coating blocks some of those visible rays, it absorbs a small amount of energy. If you compared this to a raw, industrial-grade lamp, our version might be a fraction slower to heat up. But in a home bathroom? You’d barely notice. The difference in wattage is tiny, and the peace of mind you get knowing your family’s eyes are safe is worth way more than a few missing calories of heat. You get the warmth you want, without the glare you don’t.
