Heat is brutal on gear. Five years of heating up and cooling down puts a lot of stress on electrical contacts. To handle that, we use heavy-duty connectors that don’t care about oxidation or thermal expansion. Plus, the housing protects those fragile quartz or halogen tubes from getting smashed during a swap. It keeps everything lined up perfectly, so the heat actually hits the floor where it’s supposed to.
The honest trade-off
Now, here’s the thing: modular systems have more connection points than a single soldered circuit. That means you can’t be lazy with the installation. You’ve got to make sure those connectors are tightened exactly to spec. If you skip the torque check, you might deal with voltage drops or, worse, localized overheating at the contact point. But we figure that’s a fair trade. We’d rather put the complex engineering into the factory-built module than ask a technician to perform precision electrical surgery while dangling 10 meters in the air.
